This was an incoming call. The caller ID was “SCAM LIKELY.” I ignored the call, but called the number back. A woman with an Indian accent answered. Other workers were audible in the background. The woman said that a $799 charge was made to my Amazon account from “Dayton, Ohio” (nowhere near me.) She asked if the purchase was mine. I said no, then I asked what the charge was. She said it was for “iPhone 11” and that the charge came directly from my bank account. She asked if I made the charge; I said no. She then said she will need access to my computer to install “anti-hacker software” and refund the money directly into my bank account. I don’t have time today to lead them on so I said that I’ll work with my bank, then I hung up the phone. She did not call back, however 30 minutes later I called back from another number. The same lady answered, buy I had to hang up.
So, again, the number is 248-653-6502. It’s still active.
