Another interesting fact: People who have been scammed once are usually scammed repeatedly. So targeting your scam against scam victims seems like a good plan.
I don’t know how to find out who hosts the site, but I did find a link to the company that provided the chat bot. The contact page has no phone or email, though. Not sure if this site is also fake (that would be exceptionally advanced for a scammer, but not inconceivable) or if it’s just poorly laid out.
Can confirm that this is the case. I’ve reported a bunch of the ads via Google’s reporting service. But different ads keep appearing. Clearly these scumbags are determined to keep the scam going.
OK. The chat bot company is real. I was able to use the company chat bot to file a complaint. You can do so as well. The more of us who report the site, the better the odds that they will do something about it.
They called me a few times today. Some Russian (?) dude pretended to be calling from Ontario, Canada. I asked why the number is showing up from Germany, then? It’s part of their security system or whatever.
Anyway, if you put in a handful of phone numbers from Google Voice/Talkatone/Etc. you can pretty much waste a bunch of their time. They even bother to leave a voice mail.
