My Oracle Virtual Box VM is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, I have it set to run with a dual-core processor and 2 GB of RAM. My host machine runs Windows 10, with 4 GB RAM and a dual-core processor and my VM is extremely slow. I have installation discs for all versions of Windows 7, both 32 and 64 bit systems. So, I’m wondering before I go through all the trouble of installing a lighter version of Windows 7, would my VM run faster if I were to install onto it, say, Windows 7 Home, 32 bit?
With the host only having 4 gigs to run itsself and the vm is a little rough. I doubt there are windows “light” versions like linux with mint and ubuntu. I can’t say about your processor. I use a i7 7700k which is a 4 core cpu.
My CPU is an Intel Celleron dual-core CPU that was factory installed on my laptop… Maybe my laptop just isn’t capable of sufficiently running a VM.
