# Some Rules for Scambaiting

It’s been awhile since I made one of these posts

1. Confirm that they’re actually running a scam before you start messing with them
2. make sure they’re NOT using a victim’s PC through remote desktop as a shield before you try to destroy the scammer’s machine
3. Always run every instance of any remote desktop software inside of your VM NEVER use your host OS, some scammers have access to real malware
4. NEVER tell them how deeply you’re compromised their operation, let them be wrong
5. you don’t really need a super powerful PC or advanced tech skills to be a scambaiter, just using a burner VOIP with no KYC and calling scammers to waste their time means there’s less opportunity for them to talk to a victim

Moving this to general since it’s really more of an opinionated post about scambaiting preferences / some general info rather than a guide on how to scambait with certain rules in place.

I saw a video of yours on odysee where you indulged me and pressed F5 when the scammer blacked out the screen and pressed F12 to do their thing.

We need more scambaiters doing that
