I’m wondering how to unlock my VM when it is locked with Bitlocker. I’m asking this to prepare myself in the event such a situation occurs. According to the book Windows 10 in-Depth, it said that if you forgot your password and lost your key file it is the end of the world and plugging your drive into another computer to get the files back will not work.

There isn’t a real way to get around bitlocker as long as the VM’s encrypted it’s as good as gone. You should however create VM snapshots - preferably a state where your environment is sufficiently provisioned like installed software, tweaks, etc - prior to your actual scambait call. That way you can always revert the VM to it’s previously unencrypted and clean state and start baiting again quickly.
