I’ve noticed a lot of people are using windows 7 or older on their VMs, is it harder for scammers to mess with, or whats the reason for not using windows 10?
my best guess would be the expiration caveats.
there are Win10 development VMs publicly available at these locations:
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/virtual-machines (expires on set date)
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/ (expires 90 days after first use, page also has Win7 and Win8.1 images)
there is also the Win10 utility Windows Sandbox, which creates a disposal VM that starts as a bare-bones installation and is removed completely when exited.
it’s pretty much like playing Grand Theft Auto on the PS2 without a memory card. sure, you can play whenever you want, but once the game’s off, you’ll have to start over from the beginning next time
