I’m running Linux on my host machine and Windows 7 & 10 in VMs. I obviously don’t want to put Wireshark on my VMs but will Wireshark be able to see the incoming IP address traffic when it’s connected to my VM?
Another note, I have a VM server which is what I mostly run my VMs with. I run Proxmox on it. So how would I go about finding the scammers IP address through Wireshark on my VM server? Or would I be better off running VirtualBox instead for scam-baiting?

Is wireshark only used to find out what their ip address are? or is it used for that and as a RAT?

Wireshark is a network monitoring tool.
Jim Browning has used it to find out a scammers IP address once they connect to his computer. From there he can infiltrate their network from that scammers computer. I’m not exactly sure how he’s able to get access to security cameras yet but I am working on figuring that all out. But Wireshark shows what IP addresses are connected to your network.
