I’m sure Uber is working with law enforcement, but once they find out the scammer is probably in India, Nigeria, or Jamaica I’m not sure there’s much they can do at that point.
Uber needs to do more on their end to vet users before they can use the app. But there would probably need to be legislation to force them to do that.
