A recent addition to Jims YT Tutorial "How to make a stealthy Virtual Machine"

I was facing one problem following Jims Tutorial “How to make a stealthy Virtual Machine” in terms of hiding “VMWare Tools” from the “Programs and Features” (the StealthyTools.reg didn’t hide it, mb due to a newer version).
Luckily someone in the comments had a workaround that worked for me, so I wanted to share it:

  • Use regedit and navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
  • Search the subfolder containing VMWare (mine had a long name like {6070BE…}
  • Create a new DWord 32bit key called SystemComponent with a value of 1
  • This made my “VMWare Tools” disappear from the “Programs and Features”
    Hope it helps (and it wasn’t a repost)
    This is the link to Jims tutorial, the rest worked perfect on my end.

I had some issues with the copy paste but I found if you go into device manager, then click on the device and then right click, properties and then events. Under events you’ll see Class Guid: {4d36e967-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} (disk drives example.) then copy the brackets and what’s inside then do the find on the enum and paste it in the box. It’ll take you right to what your looking for. The mouse just do F3 and it’ll find all three entries to change. It worked for me, the VGA was the one I just put VGA into and did find on till I found the right one.
I just need to get the VMware out of the bios/machine info, then get it out of apps.
