I was recently the victim of potential identity theft through a Craigslist ad looking for apartments. The link to the ad is now gone unfortunately. But what happened was that it listed a number for a phone number to call, which I did, and I was met with a scammer with an Indian accent named “Clara Walker”. I was requested to pull my credit score from CreditIQ and screenshot it, and send it back to them. Then I was directed to call another number, this time it was answered by “Steve Williams”, and was directed to do the same through the sites PFMVerify and Kikoff. They also asked for my social security number, home address, and phone number along with my email. When I called back they hung up. It seems to be an ongoing scam through Craigslist when searching for housing for rent. The particular area I looked in was in the Scranton/Wilkes Barre PA area.
