This is why I say that Facebook is not just incompetent at dealing with scammers, they are actively protecting them.
Look at this profile. It has one picture, and one post. That one post is a positive review of a scammer page posted at the same time as a bunch of very similar reviews.
We click on the ‘Following’ tab, and we see nothing but a list of nearly 30 scammer pages offering fake “recovery” services.
We report this page as a fake page. And Facebook responds that, “We’ve taken a look and found that the profile doesn’t go against our Community Standards.”
We can determine this page is a scammer page in seconds, so it is unreasonable to believe that the people at Facebook are not smart enough to see this. Therefore, the only conclusion we can draw is that scamming is not prohibited behavior on Facebook.
Facebook will not protect you from scammers. Protect yourself.
