They call first with a robot saying your social security number has been used to commit illegal activities in some random state (so far I’ve heard Texas and Washington) then they give you the number to call back. If you call back a robot says they are connecting you to an “IRS officer”. From there I’ve just been annoying the heck out of them with pretending I can’t hear them and playing loud music and redialing them over and over again in an attempt to block the line. I believe they have stopped receiving my calls now because now I just get a message that they can not take my call and to call back later, so I am going to find a way to spoof my number and call again.
I’m new to the community but seeing what Jim Browning Scammer Revolts and other legends on youtube handle these scammers, I’m very interested in being a part of this retaliation. Scammers should be ashamed of themselves and people need to be more aware of these schemes to steal their hard earned savings.
