Is this site real?

I put “report internet scam” in Google and this site came up as the first result, before the FBI and FTC sites. It seems fishy to me. What do you all think?

Talking now…not sure scam or not (360) 347-6976 (888) 288-5963
If legal, it is shady. He wants fees exceeding $1000.00

aka https://www.extortion-help.com/

This one definitely looks fake. The first site is very clean, though.

Source code has lot of similar phrases, same phone.

There are a lot of businesses registered at that Bellevue address, but Digital Forensics is not one of them.

The YouTube videos link to this site:

Looks very similar. If this is a scam, they are putting a lot more effort into it than usual. If it’s legit, it’s still looking sketchy with all of the different domains and lack of anything solid to connect to the real world.

The YouTube channel:

https://m.youtube.com/@cyberinvestigation

The videos are the same as the site text, pretty much. The voice over sounds AI generated.

This is a pretty elaborate scam.

It gets weirder. I put a zip code into the office finder on the Cyber Investigations page. It gave me a local address. There is no Cyber Investigations there, but there is a Digital Investigations. Here’s the website:

Looks familiar. This is very odd. I am tempted to check out this address, just to see if anything is actually there.

The text line for the Digital Investigations page goes to the same number as the Blackmail Help one. There is also an OH address on that page. I think we are getting closer.

Putting the ohio address in Google goes to this building

Digital Forensics Corp is registered here. The reviews indicate that it is a scam. The positive ones are generic and lack detail. The negative ones sound like your standard online scam. They don’t say if they actually went to the office or just did everything online.

One of the reviews mentioned a BBB page. Here it is:

https://www.bbb.org/us/oh/warrensville-heights/profile/forensic-computers/digital-forensics-corp-0312-92018715

Makes sense why they don’t mention BBB on their websites.

Another Facebook page.

The videos here have real people in them, but they are older. Maybe this was a real business at one point, or at least were putting a lot of effort into the scam. The page doesn’t allow reviews, which is a major red flag.

I am still on the fence. I looked up the guy in the video and found the company Linkedin page:

https://www.linkedin.com/company/digital-forensics-corp/

This would not be the first scam company we’ve seen with a Linkedin page, but it’s rare. And this one has multiple employees linked to it.

Other people are asking about this company.

People seem to think it may be real, but exaggerating their capabilities. At what point does exaggerating become lying? And when does lying become a scam?
