Liver Transplant Bitcoin Request Email - Possible Scam?

Scammer number: N/A
Scammer email: [email protected]
Is there a way to tell if this is legit?

Any other scammer information:

Hello, I apologize for bothering you,
but I’m not sure how to get out of the difficult situation I’m in.

Maybe you could help me. I need an urgent liver transplantation,
and the surgery costs a lot of money for me.
To be precise, I need 35,600 USD.

I would greatly appreciate any amount you can contribute.
If you’re unable to help, I apologize once again.

You can buy bitcoin here https://buy.bitcoin.com
or you can type “buy bitcoin” in google.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this,
and please take care of yourself and your loved ones, especially your family…

This is 100% a scam. If they didn’t give you any way to verify the story, it’s clearly a scam. Even if they had given you a real person’s information, there is no way to know that bitcoin address goes to that person and not to a scammer. There are legitimate ways to do something like this (eg. GoFundMe), but this is not one of them.

Now my question is: Is there someway to “flag” this wallet? I know it’s anonymous, but I thought there was a way to do that.

Good question. I’d start by contacting the people at Bitcoin.com and letting them know about it. I don’t know what, if anything, they do about it, though.
