I really just don’t understand why so many regular non-criminal people use facebook. They’ve had SO MANY databreaches and they still haven’t done anything to prevent more.
People get banned for saying funny, but vulgar things and then there’s these scammers that are literally facilitating crimes and they have free reign on the platform.

They present it in a way facebook doesn’t find it harmful

same. it pretty much goes down like this:

Community Standards: We do not allow fraud.
Me: (reports several posts selling malicious browser-locking scripts)
Facebook Support: These posts do not go against our Community Standards. We are complicit in letting them sell tools intended to fraud our other customers out of money.
also Facebook: memes are a danger to our platform. as such, we’re developing AI to combat this menace

Seems pretty logical to me.

Scammers selling fake popups and laundering google play cards? no problem.

Nipples? Hell no.

That right there is one of the many reasons why I have a moral objection to facebook and all of the services they own. Their standards for banning an account are completely wacky.

A model that posts a SUGGESTIVE picture of themselves is instantly banned from instagram. A scammer facilitating a crime is allowed to run free on those platforms.

Oh! and if you make tweaks to your privacy settings so that fewer people can find you on there they’ll lock you out of your own account.
