Spent time today fucking around with a refund scam. The original number was 801-871-3577, and I was also called back by 956-332-5112. I ended up getting them to give me their bank account info and will be trying to get their account shut down. Unfortunately East West Bank, the bank they were using, said that even though I never gave them any of my real info, I still would have to go through my bank, which is completely uninvolved, to report this for some reason. I’ll be trying to take care of that tomorrow probably. Any tips for dealing with this kind of thing are appreciated.
