What to do with the files Stolen from a scammer?

Hello TSU, im a noob and havent even tried to contact a scammer yet. but if and when i do, id like to know what to do with any files i can get.

since downloading any files from a persons computer might be a crime, should i delete any files, or hold on to them so i can contact future victims?

Website that lists a bunch of scams and how to report them. I would try and contact the victims, but sometimes (you might find this out quick) people won’t listen to you. They won’t acknowledge that they have been scammed because a shumans we want to think that we would know better.
